Ron,
Attached is some information regarding the Lincoln Jazz Ensemble performance
in Cleveland this Friday, January 27 for the Ohio Music Education
Association Convention. We are so proud of these young musicians and I was
hoping you could pass this news along.
Thank
you!

We are one of Dayton Public Schools
and are located at 401 Nassau Street in Dayton. Some of my former
students in the jazz ensemble are Clarence and Patrick Slaughter, Coran
Henley, Craig Hill, Kevin Dumont, Evan King and many other current and past
members of Stivers Jazz Ensemble.
The Lincoln Jazz Ensemble will be heading for Cleveland, Ohio on Friday,
January 27, 2006 to perform for the Ohio Music Education Association
Convention. The band was chosen for this performance by a panel
of judges who listened to 175 recordings of groups from all across the state
of Ohio. Out of these 175, approximately 40 groups were chosen
including choirs, bands, orchestras, and small ensembles. Lincoln is
one of only 5 jazz groups selected and is the youngest group that will be
represented. Many of the groups are high school and college/university
groups, so you can clearly see that this is a huge honor for Lincoln to be
among the top level of performing groups around the state.
The Lincoln band is
scheduled to perform at 3:30 p.m. at the Cleveland Convention Center. The
students have been working very hard to prepare 8 songs for this event. The
members of the Lincoln Jazz Ensemble are: |
