Tuesday, February 19, 8 PM
Boll Theatre, Kennedy Union

Inspired by the legendary guitarist Django Reinhardt and the Quintet of the Hot Club of France, The Hot Club of Detroit delivers a fiercely swinging brand of gypsy jazz. Both acoustic and electric guitars, tenor and soprano sax, as well as clarinet, accordion, bandoneon and upright bass weave together a range of musical traditions. The result is a retro yet hip sound: a siren sound for all generations. Established in 2003 by guitarist Evan Perri, the ensemble gained early attention: in 2007, the band swept the Detroit Music Awards, winning the Outstanding Traditional Jazz Artist among many other laurels. Learn more about these artists at http://hotclubofdetroit.com/.

General admission: $20
Seniors, UD faculty, staff & alumni, and non-UD students: $18

Email from Lorka Munoz: Lorka.Munoz@metroparks.org

We’ve just finished booking the 2013 Big Band Series and thought I would give you a sneak peak before we release the schedule to the public. We’ve appreciated all the support you have provided us in the past and look forward to another great season at RiverScape. As you see we have a strong line-up this coming summer and we should have great attendance if the weather cooperates with us.
