Advocate Movement,,,,,,
It seems to me jazz
is on a down hill slide partly because of the economy (I wish we could
blame it all on the economy) and partly because of another one of our
societies many mood changes in taste.
In addition and what may be the major economic
factor is the changes in the recording industry due to technology.
Money to promote artist has virtually dried up and without this money the
commercial media no longer programs our music – so what are we die hard
jazz fans to do? First we must understand that jazz is an art form
not a business (that so many of the venues would like it to be). I

believe it’s time for us who love jazz and want
to keep it going to come to the understanding it needs to be
financially supported like the philharmonic or any other art form. |

If you're like me and want to
help keep Jazz alive, here's your chance, we
ask you to become a Jazz Advocate. We ask for your voluntary donations
of any size (you may use our website regardless). We offer the use of this website, for
members and non-members, as a way to help support our local jazz artists in
the Dayton, Cincinnati and Columbus areas and
to help bring the people in these communities together. |
