The Sentimentalists, an 18-piececoncert and dance
band plays the hits
and arrangements of the famous
big bands of the thirties, forties, and
fifties.
Under the leadership of Ron O’Conner, the band consists of musicians
from all around the Dayton-Springfield area, including Springfield, New
Carlisle, Huber Heights, Yellow Springs, Xenia, Kettering, and
Centerville.
With over two hundred numbers in their repertoire, their program
recreates the nostalgic sounds of the
famous big bands with such all time hits as “In the Mood,” “Little
Brown Jug,” “Stringof Pearls,”
“Moonlight Serenade,” “I’m Getting Sentimental Over You,”
“SweetGeorgia Brown,” “Stardust,” “Pennsylvania 6-5000,” and
“Tangerine.”
